line

With over 25 years of experience, Gyanendra Singh Shekhawat is a respected leader in India’s architecture and planning community. He leads IDEAS with a diverse portfolio that spans high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. His work is driven by a deep commitment to rehabilitating marginalized communities, preserving urban heritage, and navigating the challenges of commercialization in historic areas.

Under his leadership, IDEAS has shaped the urban landscape of Rajasthan, delivering iconic projects such as the SKY 25 residential high-rise and the award-winning Leela Palace in Jaipur. His contributions to the adaptive reuse of Sawai Man Mahal Palace, the Constitution Club of Rajasthan, and Bombay Hospital highlight the firm’s versatility and expertise across various project types and scales.

A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Shekhawat believes in the power of education to transform the architectural field. His academic contributions, including teaching at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur, have focused on vernacular architecture, urban conservation, and disaster management. His involvement in international conferences, such as the Asian Congress of Architects (ACA), further underscores his global outlook and commitment to advancing architectural discourse and practice.

“Architecture is not about creating structures; it's about shaping experiences, preserving heritage, and transforming communities for a better tomorrow.”
