KARJAT
Set amidst the lush hills of the Western Ghats in Karjat, Maharashtra, this luxury riverside resort was envisioned and conceptually developed by IDEAS, encompassing the overall design vision, architectural character, and master planning of the development.
Inspired by the region’s natural setting and traditional Maharashtrian architecture, the concept reinterprets characteristic elements such as sloping roofs, deep verandahs, shaded transitional spaces, and natural materials within a contemporary hospitality experience. The planning responds sensitively to the terrain, riverfront, and monsoon climate while establishing a strong connection between architecture and landscape.
The masterplan brings together a stepped main hotel block, private villas, wellness facilities, event lawns, and landscaped riverfront spaces, carefully positioned to maximise views and engagement with the surrounding landscape.
The project represents IDEAS’ design and conceptual vision, developed from initial planning through architectural concept development. The project was not executed by IDEAS.
